Meet Our Founder

Stephanie Nguyen, RN, MSN, WHNP-C, IBCLC

Stephanie Nguyen is a Registered Nurse (RN), Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with a Master of Science in nursing from The University of Cincinnati. Her comprehensive knowledge in women’s health stems from her career as a postpartum and labor/delivery nurse, specializing in high-risk antepartum and working as a WHNP in the ob/gyn office setting. Stephanie has spent her career caring for women in all stages of life, but has truly found her passion in helping mothers learn to breastfeed and seeing what a difference Modern Milk has made in the lives of so many new parents.

Our Mission

To provide a community wellness center to educate, encourage, and empower today’s modern mom.

At Modern Milk, we are all about moms, babies and families! We believe that a happy mom makes a happy baby, and we are here to help you navigate all the challenges of new motherhood. Whether you need help with breastfeeding, infant sleep, newborn care or anything else motherhood throws your way, Modern Milk is a one-stop resource for you and your family.
We started Modern Milk with the hope that we can help make things a little easier for your entire family as you welcome your new baby.

Allison Small

After retiring from school teaching, Allison wanted a job where she still got to be around kiddos and mamas. She has worked at Modern Milk since we opened and enjoys every minute of it. Fun fact: Allison loves to organize and make things look pretty!

Risa Brown

Risa is an Arizona native and proud Wildcat! In her spare time, she likes baking, reading and hanging out with her husband, two daughters and dog, Rocky. Fun Fact: Risa has been skydiving in New Zealand!

Kristin Seifert

Kristin is an Arizona native with Midwestern roots as both of her parents are from Wisconsin. Go Cheeseheads! Most days you’ll find her being mommy to her fun-loving toddler. Her one big dream in life was always to be a mom! Kristin attended Happy Mom School with her daughter in the spring of 2024. She was thrilled to join the Modern Milk team after such a great experience in July 2024. Babies have always been her jam!

Bobbi Treadwell

Bobbi is an EMCT-EMT that spent years in the hospital and in the field and has seen first hand the impact of early initiated CPR/AED. She and her husband, Reed, are the proud parents of Logan, a Type 1 Diabetic. Her husband serves on the board of JDRF and Logan is an Ambassador. They love traveling, reading, and playing sports.

Bonnie Kelsey

As a former teacher for 13 years, Bonnie’s love for children runs deep. She welcomed her beautiful baby boy in 2023 and is loving this new amazing, wild and sometimes difficult phase of life. As a Happy Mom School graduate, she loves to help other new moms navigate their way through this crazy ride we call motherhood. Fun Fact: Bonnie was a cheerleader for the University of Arizona! Bear Down!

Holly is a mom of two. In her spare time, she is a pediatric nurse, a cheerleader at her kids' sports games, and a wine enthusiast. A fun fact about Holly is she love holidays and birthdays, any excuse to celebrate!

Jennifer Grant

Jennifer has been a registered nurse in the state of Arizona for the past 20 years. During that time she worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Honor Health and in the office of an OB/GYN. She started at Modern Milk when they first opened in 2015 where she has taught birthing classes and facilitated Happy Mom’s School. She now exclusively facilitates Happy Mom’s School where she has the privilege of pursuing her passion of working with moms and babies as they transition into this new and wonderful season of life. Jennifer is a proud mom of 3 teenagers. She grew up in Vail, Colorado and is an avid skier and lover of seasons.

Jocelyn Miller

Jocelyn Miller of Yellow Room Photography is a Family & Newborn Photographer, who loves to teach mamas how to master using their iPhones to capture the beauty in the everyday. She is a mama to two littles, spent a decade as a foster care social worker, and has been leading Happy Mom School groups since 2018. For her birthday every year, she enjoys a homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream cake.

Maribeth is a former high-school teacher turned entrepreneur. When not spending time with her family, she loves to read, hit up hot yoga classes, watch her kids play sports, and facilitate Happy Mom School classes.

Elizabeth Oborn

Elizabeth is a registered nurse and childbirth educator with over 15 years of experience. She has a passion for women’s health and seeks to empower expectant parents to have the labor and delivery experience that they desire. Elizabeth is married to her best friend Sean, and they have 4 sons and 1 daughter. She loves to hike, play the piano, and eat yummy desserts. Fun fact: Elizabeth has two different colored eyes.

With a bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, Chelsea has worked extensively with children, families, and couples helping them with parenting skills and training. She is married with two girls. Fun Fact: Chelsea is happiest by the ocean. She was born in Florida & will always be a Florida girl at heart.

Megan McNamee

Megan teaches parents how to start solid foods, prevent or manage picky eating and raise intuitive, adventurous eaters. Megan loves barre, going to concerts and wearing anything neon, and she hates donuts and raisins. Fun Fact: Megan is a plant lady with a total of 12 plants (currently living) in her house!

Laurel McMillan

Laurel is an occupational therapist and the founder of Little Roos, a pediatric therapy practice. Her journey has led me through various settings—from outpatient pediatric rehabilitation to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and finally to the community, where she works closely with infants and their families out of our space at Modern Milk. Her expertise spans the range of infant and toddler development with a keen focus on nurturing motor skill acquisition, feeding, and the holistic aspects of overall development and well-being. Fun Fact: Laurel can't wink!

Michelle Zwerner

Michelle is a mom, wife and a pediatric speech-language pathologist with 16 years of experience across various settings (private practice, early intervention and public schools). Throughout the years, Michelle has realized that her favorite part about being an SLP is getting to coach and educate the parents of the children she works with. She is excited for the opportunity to share her knowledge to the Modern Milk community. Fun Fact: Michelle has dreams of becoming a children’s book author.

Meghan Adams

Megan is a registered nurse and a board certified lactation consultant ( IBCLC). She worked as a postpartum nurse for 6 years before I decided to step back from the hospital and eventually pursue my interest in becoming an IBCLC. Fun Fact: I have a twin sister!

Jill Marion

Jill has 2 school-aged children, a daughter and a son. She was inspired to become an IBCLC after several breastfeeding challenges with her daughter resolved with helpful lactation support. She loves musical theater and enjoys belting out Broadway and show tunes at random times.

Julie is a pediatric nurse with 19 years of experience and a longtime lactation educator. She recently became an IBCLC and brings both her professional expertise and personal journey—exclusively pumping for a year with her own son—to the families she supports. Fun fact: she also speaks Spanish!

Stephanie Nguyen is the founder and owner of Modern Milk. She has been an RN for over 20 years and a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner for over 15 years. She has always had a passion for women’s health and spent many years working in Labor & Delivery and in the OB/GYN office setting. Stephanie and her husband, Fred (The Modern Milkman) have 2 hilarious daughters and you can often catch Stephanie driving them to various activities (with a cup of coffee in hand!), coaching her daughter’s softball team, reading a good book or snuggling with her two rescue dogs!
Fun Fact: Stephanie once won $250 on the Ellen Degeneres Show!

Lindsey Robertson

Lindsey is a mom of one – a fun loving, kind, and generous 18 year old! She is an Arizona native, lover of the sun & nature. She LOVE tacos – all day every day! She is a CAPPA nationally certified pregnancy and postpartum fitness instructor and NASM Certified Personal Trainer. With over 15 years of experience in childbirth education and fitness, she loves teaching strength classes: incorporating compound movements with HIIT – style accessory work.

Abbey Yoder

Abbey is an ASU grad with a passion for movement, wellness, and helping others feel strong from the inside out. From dancing with the Joffrey Ballet to becoming certified in yoga + Pilates, Abbey's journey has been rooted in body awareness and joy.

Now, she's using that experience to support women - especially mamas - in every stage of life. Whether you're prenatal, postpartum, or just needing a reset, her sessions are a space to feel long, strong, and empowered.

Fun Fact: Abbey has an older sister and 1 year old nephew who is the reason she started teaching mama pilates.

Rachel is a mom, fitness trainer, and doula. At first glance, these roles may seem unrelated—but for Rachel, they’re all ways to express her deep passion for health and her awe of the human body. She believes the body is beautifully designed and is dedicated to helping others unlock its full potential.

Megan is a pelvic floor physical therapist and specializes in women’s pelvic health including pregnancy and postpartum. She is a mom of three and loves to hike, read, and do Pilates.

Jadyn Heck

Jadyn is a mama of two, former professional dancer, and barre and Pilates instructor who believes in the power of movement to bring you back to yourself. After years of overtraining and chasing “more,” she found healing in slowing down—and now she helps other women, especially mamas, feel strong, grounded, and at home in their bodies again.

Jennie Love

Jennie teaches that the practice of yoga is integrating the body, breath, spirit and mind all into one. Feeling compelled to share with others the powerful effects of yoga is what led Jennie to become a teacher. Yoga was so impactful for Jennie’s own pregnancy, labor & delivery, and postpartum health that she felt a particular calling to share the powerful benefits of yoga with new moms. After all, motherhood is the most advanced form of yoga there is. It is with a lightheartedness that Jennie encourages her students to explore their potential, relax with what is and let go of what simply doesn’t serve them. Jennie has taught at Modern Milk since 2016. She lives in Scottsdale with her husband and their two little boys, along with the family pets.

Nicolay Jonsson

Nicolay is a certified health coach and yoga teacher supporting Prenatal and Postpartum Mamas in feeling good in their growing and new bodies. Her passion in both health and yoga began with her own Mamahood journey and desire to be the resource she had wanted during these seasons. Nicolay combines her expertise in health + yoga with being a seasoned Mama of four young kids into every class she teaches. Fun Fact: Nicolay loves desserts, so she loves taking recipes and making them more nutrition friendly!

Cancellation Policy

What is your cancellation policy for educational classes?

Class space is limited. Requests for cancellations must be made at least 3 days in advance of the class date so that we have the ability to fill in wait-listed clients. Classes canceled less than 3 days in advance will receive a credit that can be used towards another education class, fitness class, or any breastfeeding support services. We’re happy to reschedule you for the same class at another time or a different class at another time, availability permitting.

Refunds or credits are not issued for classes not attended, without notice.

Modern Milk reserves the right to cancel a class when the required minimum enrollment is not met within 3 days of the class date.

What is your cancellation policy for lactation services?

We know that breastfeeding can be hard and we do our best to schedule our lactation clients as soon as possible. In order for us to provide lactation services to those who need them, we ask that requests for cancellations be made at least 12 hours in advance of your appointment time. A $100 cancellation fee will be issued for appointments canceled less than 12 hours before your appointment time. If you would like to reschedule at a later date, the $100 cancellation fee will be applied to your appointment.

Fees charged for no-show appointments cannot be used towards future appointments.

What is your cancellation policy for Happy Mom School?

Prorated refunds may be issued if you need to cancel your enrollment after attending 2 or fewer sessions. No refunds will be issued after the 3rd session and beyond.

We cannot refund or prorate for any missed classes, and due to scheduling, makeup classes will not be offered.

What is your return policy?

Unopened/unused merchandise may be returned within 30 days of purchase. Opened supplements are non-refundable; please contact the manufacturer for concerns regarding supplements. For any defective items, please discuss them with the store manager.
